Starting Martial Arts

You have questions, and I understand that. My motivation for this site stems from my own personal story.

My name is Mark and I am the owner, creator, webmaster, et.al, of this website. After leaving the military I found myself in a meaningless rut of working 9-5 and missing "passion" in my life. Years earlier, I had taken Judo for two years and remembered how beneficial it was to not only get a work out, but to do it by learning martial arts and enjoying all the added benefits that come along with it.

So I decided I wanted to "get back into it". This was about six years ago and unfortunately for me, there wasn't much out there to help me with my search. So I stumbled about for a few weeks trying to find a school that offered what I wanted, was close enough for me to feasibly get to, and was the right price.

I finally found a Kempo Karate school that offered the environment, price, and proximity that I was looking for. This was a great stepping stone for me and my passion was reignited. Since then I have moved on and now train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.

Now my goal (outside of furthering my own martial arts life) is to help others do the same. If you are wondering any of the following questions:

I have furthered myself as a person, met many great people (including my wife), and have found what identifies me personally. And I owe it all to studying the arts.
